NORTH MACKAY ATHLETICS

Hi, and welcome to North Mackay Athletics. At our club we are about Family,  Fun and Fitness,  also having a whole lot of joy doing it.

North Mackay Athletics (NMA)  Centre was formed in 1984 and is the longest operating club in the Mackay region. We are affiliated with both Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ) and Athletics North Queensland (ANQ). We operate under LAQ policies and guidelines. NMA is one if the biggest Winter Season Centres outside of Brisbane with 150+ athletes registered last season in 2023 .

North Mackay Athletics caters for children aged 3 and up to masters . We provide not only the full sized athletic equipment used by experienced athletes but also a range of smaller 'custom built' equipment and specifically designed events to enable smaller children and novices to learn the basics of these events. We cater for children of all abilities and skill levels.

About Little Athletics

Little athletics started in Victoria in the early 1960's and came to Queensland in 1973. Today more than 13'500 children participate at 85 Little Athletic Centres throughout Queensland.

Our aim is to provide a community activity involving the whole family. Mum and dad can help with the events as their children participate and thus making many new friends along the way.

Little Athletes are able to develop the fundamental skills of all sports, speed, endurance, coordination and strength through running, throwing, jumping and walking whilst in a fun and social environment. Emphasis is placed on 'having a go' and improving personal best performances.

NORTH MACKAY ATHLETICS CLUB

In 2020 our club made a bold and new exciting adventure to become duel affiliated with Athletics North Queensland and that is where North Mackay Athletics has been formed . By doing this we will be able to cater for athletes that are of an older age than 17 yrs old all the way to 99yrs old if they wish , you are never to old to be an athlete at our club .
